Everett Road History During construction of the road in the 1830s, workers uncovered a limestone burial mound presumed to be Hopewell. The road was constructed over the tomb. Hauntings Not far from the covered bridge, the quiet streets of Everett hold an otherworldly hitchhiker. The black shadow of a man in a hat and trench coat has been seen on numerous occasions between the bridge and the church. No one seems to know who he might be, though some speculate he might be wearing a Halloween costume of some sort.
