History:
This house was built out of fieldstone in 1809. The nearby barn was erected in 1820. During the Battle of Gettysburg, it was owned by Cornelius and Anna Houtelin. Some of the fighting actually took place on the very grounds of this farm. It was expanded in 1993 to accomodate a bed and breakfast.
Hauntings:
Footsteps have been heard within the house, as well as the faint singing of a young girl. Some have even felt the chilling hug of a ghost child. Doors have a habit of being unocked by unseen forces. A Union soldier is also believed to haunt the home. Some visitors and empoyees have seen the light of a lantern floating in the field near the barn. Part of the paranormal activity is believed to be caused by the spirit of Cornelius Houtelin.
