History:
In 1899, this brick home was built. It was the early home of Frederick Banting, who later won a Nobel Prize for his work with insulin. Some of his earliest pioneering research was conducted on animals at this house. It is currently operated as a bed and breakfast.
Hauntings:
A headstone was unearthed during construction in the back yard and is currently on display. Guests and staff members have reported seeing a figure in period clothing in the house. It is believed to be the spirit of Banting or possibly a ghost connected with the grave marker. Ghostly barks are heard on occasion, as well as the sound of dogs running up and down the hallways.
